Free speaking tools

Three small tools for the questions people ask before they speak: how long will this take, how fast do I talk, and how many times did I say “um”? Each one gives you a number in under a minute, and tells you what to do with it.

How many words is a speech?

A quick answer for every common length, with what each length is used for, how many points fit, and a calculator set to that time.

Numbers first, then one thing to practise

A number on its own doesn't make you a better speaker. So each tool explains what its result means for the people listening and suggests one thing to try next. A fast talker gets a pause drill; someone who leans on “um” gets a way to swap it for silence.

If you want to go further, the speaking quizzes help you work out what to focus on, and the free Voice Snapshot measures a minute of you talking: pace, pauses, fillers, melody and punch, with a coach note on the one thing to change first. QUESTIONS

Questions people ask

Are these speaking tools free?

Yes. All three tools are free, with no account and no card. The calculator and the paste mode of the filler counter run entirely in your browser.

Do you keep what I paste?

No. Scripts and transcripts you paste are processed in your browser and never sent to us. Only recordings are sent, and only when you press record.

What happens when I record myself?

Your take is sent to Deepgram to be transcribed, then measured by our coach. We don't store the audio unless you save your result as a free Voice Snapshot; the transcript and measurements wait 48 hours for you, then they are deleted.

How accurate are the results?

Word counts and timings are exact for what you paste. Recorded results depend on the transcript: a quiet or noisy recording can miss or mishear a few words. Treat the numbers as a guide you can repeat, not a grade.

What is SpeakConfident?
