HOW IT WORKS

Ten situations you'll recognise.

Most quizzes ask how confident you feel. This one asks what actually happens when a question catches you out, a story falls flat or the stakes go up.

  1. 1

    Answer ten situations

Meetings, voice notes, dinner stories, interviews. Each answer points to a habit a listener would notice.

  2. 2

    Get your style

Your main habit, the runner-up if it's close, and what listeners hear when you speak.

  3. 3

    Try one drill today

Every style comes with a 60-second drill you can do right now, and the chapter of the path built for it.

THE SIX STYLES

Which one sounds like you?

Each is a delivery habit, not a personality type. Most people have a bit of two or three.

  • The Sprinter

You know what you want to say, and you say it at full speed.

Starts with Chapter 2: Pause & Pace
  • The Hedger

Your ideas are good. The words around them make them sound unsure.

Starts with Chapter 8: Say Less
  • The Scenic Route

You get there in the end. Your listeners might not.

    Starts with Chapter 5: Structure
  • The Flatliner

Clear and steady, but everything sounds equally important.

Starts with Chapter 4: Melody & Tone
  • The Fade-Out

Strong starts. The ends of your sentences go missing.

Starts with Chapter 3: Volume & Punch
  • The Natural-in-Waiting

You're already good. Pressure just hides it.

Starts with Chapter 7: Under Pressure

QUESTIONS

About the quiz

Is this a personality test?

No. It's about delivery habits: things a listener can hear, like pace, pauses, softeners, structure, melody and how you finish sentences. Habits can change with practice, which is the whole point.

How accurate is it?

It's a starting point, not a measurement. Your answers describe what you think happens, and most people hear themselves differently on a recording. For a measured answer, record a one-minute Voice Snapshot in SpeakConfident and see your pace, pauses, fillers, melody and punch.

What if two styles both sound like me?

That's common. Your result shows your main style and, when it's close, a second habit. Start with the main one: fixing one habit at a time works better than trying to change everything at once.

Do I need an account?

No. The quiz and every result page are free and need no sign-up. If you'd like to try the drills with feedback, the Voice Snapshot also works without an account.

Where do the drills come from?

They're simplified versions of reps from SpeakConfident's ten-chapter path, built on widely taught speaking practice: record and listen back, change one thing, exaggerate it in practice, and lead with your point.

Nerves more than habits?

Take the two-minute speaking nerves self-check and see what tends to help.
