What happens to your recordings.
In plain language: what we record, where it goes, who processes it, and how to delete it.
When the microphone is on
The microphone starts only when you tap the record button and stops when you tap again, when you reach the time limit, or when you leave the app. Before your first recording we ask once for permission to analyse your takes.
What is saved
Each take you record in the coach is uploaded and saved privately to your account, with its transcript, its measurements and your coach's feedback. That's what makes your Replay, your progress and your checkpoints possible. Only you can play your recordings back.
How a take is analysed
Pitch and loudness are measured on your own device. The audio is sent to Deepgram to turn speech into text with word timings. Our app measures pace, pauses and fillers from those timings. The transcript and measurements are then sent to an AI model through OpenRouter to write your feedback. When your coach speaks, that feedback text is turned into speech by Deepgram.
“Hear it better”, example lines, “Ask your coach” and the live conversation partner use xAI's voice model through fal.ai. For “Ask your coach” and the live partner, the question or answer you record is sent. For “Hear it better”, only the sentence text is sent.
These providers process data to deliver the service; their own processing and retention policies apply. We don't sell your recordings.
What the coach does not do
It doesn't score your accent, your personality, your emotions or your “confidence”. Feedback is about delivery and clarity, and every point is tied to a moment you can replay, so you can check what it heard. AI can make mistakes; tap “Not quite” on any feedback to tell us.
Real recordings you upload
If you use “Review a real recording”, only upload your own voice, and only if anyone else who can be heard agreed to be recorded.
Delete or export
Open any recording in your Speech Library and choose Delete to remove its audio and analysis. Deleting your account removes all your recordings and data. You can download a copy of your data from account settings.
